posted on by Egan Loo
The Japanese game developer Level 5 is announcing at its Level 5 Vision 2009 event on Tuesday that a television anime and manga will accompany the release of its latest game, Danbōru Senki (literally, Cardboard War Chronicles). The studio behind Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King , Rogue Galaxy, and Professor Layton and the Curious Village plans to ship its new robot game in Japan in 2010. Like the Inazuma Eleven game project, Danbōru Senki's manga adaptation will run in Shogakukan's Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine. Bandai will also release a plastic model series.

Update 2: Both Inside Games and Gigazine list the title of the upcoming game as "ダンボール戦記" ("Cardboard War Chronicles"), but the official website lists the title as "ダンボール戦機" ("Cardboard Battle Machines").
