Junko Mizuno, jaPress Founders Interviewed
posted on by Egan Loo
The About.com:Manga website has posted an interview with artist Junko Mizuno from her San Francisco appearance last weekend. The creator of Cinderalla, Hansel and Gretel, Princess Mermaid, and Pure Trance moved to this city in Northern California just as Last Gasp Publishing and jaPRESS released her latest book, Little Fluffy Gigolo PELU. Mizuno discusses her newest English-language release, her future plans, and her upcoming art shows in Seattle and Southern California.
The website also interviewed jaPRESS co-founders Patrick Macias and Izumi Evers and covered the closing of San Francisco's Manga Cafe Mika this year. At least two other manga cafes are still open in the United States: Nix Manga Rental & Cafe in Los Angeles and Koko Marina Paradise in Honolulu. (San Francisco's Restaurant on the Bridge has a limited manga selection for diners.)
