Gundam Rock English Cover Album to Ship in Japan

Not-So-Daily Link of the Day III: Californian singer Andrew W.K. will release Gundam Rock, an album of English-language rock covers of Gundam anime songs, on September 9 in Japan. The CD release from Universal Music Japan will feature the music from the first Mobile Suit Gundam television series and movie trilogy as part of the ongoing 30th anniversary celebration (pictured at right). Last November, Andrew W.K. had already released a cover album of J-pop songs that included the "Ai Senshi" song from the Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldiers of Sorrow film.
Besides the English covers of theme songs and the rock versions of background music, Andrew W.K. will reenact the anime's opening narration and the famous memorial speech that the Gihren Zabi character gives for his fallen brother.
