Mugen Spiral's Kusanagi Starts Akatsuki no Yona Manga
posted on by Egan Loo
Mizuho Kusanagi, the creator of Mugen Spiral, Game X Rush, and NG Life, has launched her new Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn) manga in this year's 17th issue of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine on Wednesday. The magazine describes the story as an "epic fantasy romance set in a country in ruins." The manga revolves around Princess Yona and her cousin Suwon. A four-page sample of the manga is available online. Tokyopop published the two volumes of Mugen Spiral in 2007, and has started publishing Game X Rush and NG Life this year.
After the magazine indicated that its end is near, Kou Matsuzuki's Shiawase Kissa 3-chōme romance manga will run its final chapter in the next issue on August 20. Tokyopop is launching the manga next January under the name Happy Cafe. The magazine is also marking its 35th anniversary with a two-hour "All Night Nippon: Shōjo Manga Night Hana to Yume Special" on television with host Shōko Nakagawa on September 5 at 25:00 (effectively, 1:00 a.m. the next day).
