Otakon's Unofficial Attendance Pegged at 26,350

The Otakon 2009 convention has announced that the July 17-19 event had an unofficial tally of 26,350 members. The Otakorp convention organizers announced 26,262 as its official attendance number for Otakon 2008 in the same Baltimore Convention Center venue. 22,852 attended the convention in 2007. The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation announced that over 44,000 unique attendees went to Anime Expo 2009 in Los Angeles earlier this month.
