posted on by Egan Loo
Eat-Man creator Akihito Yoshitomi has launched his new Chikyū no Hōkago (Earth Afterschool) manga series in the September issue of Akita Shoten's Monthly Champion RED magazine on Saturday. The story revolves around three girls and one boy who survive on Earth after the rest of humanity has been wiped out. Yoshitomi had already published a one-shot Chikyū no Hōkago manga in the May issue of the same magazine, and the one-shot's popularity led to the ongoing series. Akita Shoten posted a preview page of the series.
Viz Media published Yoshitomi's Eat-Man manga in North America, while Bandai Entertainment released its 1997 television anime adaptation and the 1998 television anime sequel. ADV Manga published the first volumes of Yoshitomi's Ray manga in 2005.
The October issue of Champion RED will publish a new manga called Shin Mazinger Z Shōgeki! H-Hen based on Gō Nagai's Mazinger Z manga and anime franchise. The magazine already launched the Shin Mazinger Zero manga by writer Yoshiaki Tabata and artist Yūki Yogo to coincide with the ongoing Shin Mazinger Shōgeki! Z-Hen television anime series.
