Malaysia's DaiCon convention will host voice actress and singer Minori Chihara in her first public appearance in Southeast Asia this weekend. Chihara will appear at a question-and-answer panel on July 11, perform a concert on July 12, and hold a meet-and-greet session with fans. Chihara is best known for playing Yuki Nagato in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya anime series in 2006 and its various spinoffs, including this year's newly animated Haruhi episodes.
Chihara debuted as Aya Natsume in Tenjho Tenge in 2004 after becoming a finalist in Pony Canyon's Voice Artist & Singer Audition 2003. Her other roles include Chiaki Minami in Minami-ke and Kagura Tsuchimiya in Ga-Rei -Zero-. In addition to her voice-acting, she has sung the theme songs for Haruhi, Minami-ke, Tenjho Tenge: Ultimate Fight, Ga-Rei -Zero-, and other projects.
