Docucopies says it will not print Yaoi Coloring Book "because of the nudity"
The global boys-love publisher Yaoi Press reports that the on-demand printer Docucopies refused to make copies of its Yaoi Coloring Book "because of the nudity of this file." While Yaoi Press founder Yamila Abraham noted that all of the book's characters are male in her emailed reply, she offered to replace some pictures if Docucopies specified which ones triggered the refusal. Abraham posted the following response from Docucopies:
Abraham had previously listed Docucopies.com as a resource in her "How to Print a Comic Book or Doujinshi Cheap" guide on the eHow website, since Docucopies had accepted previous jobs without raising issues. Docucopies' Terms of Service does not list content restrictions, but they also assert that the customers will indemnify the printer from legal issues and adds, "We reserve the right to refuse to any customer."
Hi Yamila -
There are a number of page[s] that I find disturbing and do not want to put our employees in the same position printing this book for you. Some of the pages are 5, 6, 23, 24, 28, [and] 29. I am sorry but we will not print this book.
