Tegami Bachi Manga Gets TV Anime Green-Lit for October (Update 2)

The June issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine will announce on Saturday that an television anime adaptation of Hiroyuki Asada's Tegami Bachi (Letter Bee) manga has been green-lit for fall. The original manga follows a boy who runs deliveries as a "Letter Bee" messenger throughout a strange fantasy land. An anime special (pictured at right) was already produced for last fall's Jump Super Anime Event Tour events, and it was later streamed worldwide.
Jump Square magazine editor-in-chief Masahiko Ibaragi told KIDS STATION's Anime Paradise news program in November that there might be a Tegami Bachi anime on television in 2009. Viz Media announced at July's Comic-Con International event that it will be releasing the Tegami Bachi manga in North America.

Update 2: According to Comic Natalie, the new series will premiere on over-the-air television in Japan in October. The television anime will retain the same cast as the Jump Super Anime Event Tour version.
