Kadokawa Sets Up Game Subsidiary with Former Tecmo Head

Kadokawa Group Holdings (KGH), the parent company of Kadokawa Shoten, Kadokawa Pictures USA, ASCII Media Works, Enterbrain, and several other anime- and manga-related companies, announced on Thursday that it is establishing a new, wholly owned strategic subsidiary for games on April 1. (April 1 is the traditional start of the Japanese fiscal year.) Yoshimi Yasuda, the former president of Tecmo, will head the newly unveiled Kadokawa Games. Kadokawa Shoten, ASCII Media Works, Enterbrain, and the other KGH sibling companies have been developing and releasing their own games already.The aim of Kadokawa Games is to coordinate the production and distribution of games across all of KGH's companies and their various brands, with an emphasis on the globalization and Internet-based expansion of the game industry.
