Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden's Return Pushed to Spring 2010
posted on by Egan Loo
Manga creator Yuu Watase has announced on her website on Wednesday that her Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden romantic adventure manga will not resume until spring of 2010. She explained that the delay was the result of her physical condition and her work schedule for her other magazine titles. She apologized to her readers for the continued delay and asked for their patience and understanding. She added that a fan book will be released in the summer of 2009.
Watase created Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden in 2003 as a spinoff to her popular Fushigi Yuugi manga. Shogakukan published nine volumes as of last year, when Watase announced that the title would go on hiatus. Viz Media will publish the eighth volume in North America next month.
Watase has been drawing the Sakura-Gari manga in Shogakukan's Rinka magazine since June of 2007. She just launched her Arata Kangatari manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine last fall, after the Yuu Watase Perfect World Fushigi Yuugi magazine ceased publication.
