Charady no Joke na Mainichi Anime's Website Online
posted on by Egan Loo
A website has gone online for Charady no Joke na Mainichi, a television series that will run every day for 365 days, starting on April 1. The story will center on Charady (Misako Yasuda), a fictional 26-year-old woman from San Francisco who graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design's Department of Character Design. Charady loves jokes from around the world, and each daily short will present a different joke. Ryuji Masuda (Funny Pets, Ga-Ra-Ku-Ta: Mr. Stain on Junk Alley) is the executive director, but the director of the individual episodes will be the real-life students of the Department of Character Design. The department is also producing the character designs and animation of the joke segments, while a different computer graphics team is producing the Charady segments. Daisuke Tengan is writing the scripts.
The series will air in six stations in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and other parts of Japan from April 1 onward, and the website states that the BIGLOBE Stream service will stream the anime worldwide on the same day. Crystal Ball, a fashion brand for young women, will provide "visual support" by helping to develop the clothes for Charady. PHP Kenkyūsha will ship a tentatively titled "Jokes of the World" (Sekai no Joke) tie-in book at the beginning of May, while the recently merged Geneon Universal Entertainment will start shipping the six bimonthly DVDs this June.
