Japanese Animation DVD Ranking, January 20-26

Daikessen! Super Ultra 8 Kyōdai, Takeshi Yagi's newest entry in the Ultraman franchise, sold 13,482 copies of its standard edition DVD to debut at #7 on Oricon's weekly DVD sales chart. The memorial box edition (pictured at right) stood at #10 with 10,860 copies. Another live-action special-effects film, Ryūta Tasaki's Kamen Rider Kiba: Makai-jō no Ō, debuted #16 with 7,051 copies of its collector's pack sold. It also moved 4,669 copies of its regular edition DVD at #26. Hana Yori Dango Final, the theatrical finale to the recent live-action adaptation of Yōko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers manga, sold 4,515 more copies in its sixth week of release to add to its record total of 319,981. It ranked at #27.
