Venus Capriccio's Nishikata to Launch Cyboy Manga
posted on by Egan Loo
The February issue of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine announced on Saturday that manga creator Mai Nishikata (Venus Capriccio, Sweet Black) will be launching her Kaizō Shōnen Cyboy (Rebuilt Boy Cyboy) series in the next issue on January 5. The Cyboy story originated as a one-shot manga that Nishikata drew for Hana to Yume's 2008 Xmas Present Stories booklet last month. The story centers on the "incomplete roadmap towards an ideal male."
The North American publisher CMX Manga announced at New York Comic Con this past April that it is releasing Nishikata's Venus Capriccio drama manga about music students. Venus Capriccio ran in Hana to Yume magazine from 2006 to earlier this year, and five compiled volumes have been published.
Also next month in Hana to Yume, Maiko Yamaguchi (Mō Sukoshi Ganbarimashō, Kagikko) is launching a new Gekkan Nakatoba gag manga about life as a manga artist and the single mother of a girl.
