posted on by Egan Loo
Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump offers event-exclusive anime via mail order

The DVD will also include the original credit-less opening and ending animation sequences for Dragon Ball and One Piece, as well as the original production design images from the Tegami Bachi anime, one original postcard, and one original mini clear file. The 1,600-yen (about US$17) DVD is a joint project between the sister magazines Weekly Shonen Jump, V Jump, and Jump Square. The forms for the mail-order offer are included in this current issue and the next three issues of Weekly Shonen Jump, and the deadline for sending the forms is January 31.
Dragon Ball manga creator Akira Toriyama himself drafted the story about the fan-favorite character Vegeta's younger brother Table for the tour's anime special. The special is the first new Dragon Ball anime episode in a decade. Tegami Bachi, Hiroyuki Asada's manga about a messenger boy in a strange fantasy land, was animated for the first time for this tour. Also for the first time, the Romance Dawn anime special adapted Eiichiro Oda's "prototype" manga that eventually evolved into his hit One Piece series. Shueisha's Jumpland website has been streaming the specials from November 24 to January 31.
