Viz to Distribute Anime through Warner, iTunes Canada
posted on by Egan Loo
The ICv2 retail news source reports that Warner Home Video has agreed to distribute Viz Media's DVD releases from April 1 onward. That includes both back catalog titles such as Death Note and Inuyasha, and new titles such as April 7's Naruto Uncut Box Set 13 and Hunter X Hunter Box Set, Volume 2. The agreement should expand the reach of Viz Media's anime titles.
Viz Media also announced that it has added the first three seasons of uncut Naruto, three story arcs (or 63 episodes) of Bleach, and all 37 episodes of Death Note to the Canadian version of Apple's online iTunes Store. The first episodes of each English-dubbed series are free for downloading until January 6.
The Publishers Weekly trade magazine reports that the publisher Go! Comi will be releasing its manga and other works through a new distributor, PGW, in North America. Go! Comi CEO David Wise says that PGW will help expand sales in traditional bookstores.
