Viz, B&N Post Tezuka's Phoenix 'Motion Manga' Video (Update 2)
posted on by Egan Loo
The book seller Barnes & Noble began hosting a Phoenix "motion manga" video — an English-translated chapter from Osamu Tezuka's mythical manga classic that has been set to music and a vocal soundtrack. The title character is a spiritual creature who has crossed paths with the entire history of human civilization through countless reincarnations. Veteran voice actor Tōru Ohkawa (Fullmetal Alchemist's Roy, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex's Saito) leads a voice cast that includes Takayuki Masuda, Shinya Fukumatsu, and Makiko Nabei from Mausu Promotion. The video is based on a story from "Karma," the fourth volume in Viz Media's release of the manga.
Update: Video link corrected.
Update 2: The video lists a Japanese website for the Tezuka Osamu Magazine, which in turn links to the Tezuka Osamu M Magazine with more motion manga (without English subtitles). Thanks, Aizen-chan.
