Bat-Manga Editor Chip Kidd to Appear in LA, SF, NYC
posted on by Egan Loo
Graphic novel editor and designer Chip Kidd will make appearances in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City to promote Bat-Manga! The Secret History of Batman in Japan. The book compiles Jiro Kuwata's 1960s manga re-interpretation of DC Comics' costumed detective hero, and also looks at Batman's presence in Japan when the live-action television series was released. Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles will host Kidd's appearance with Asahi drinks and MALO snacks on November 12 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Kidd will then hold a book reading and signing at San Francisco's 111 Minna Gallery on November 13 from 6:00 p.m. Kidd will return to his hometown for a talk and signing at the New York City branch of Kinokuniya Books on November 17 at 6:00 p.m.
Bloggers have recently raised the issue of Kuwata's omission from the book cover's credits, and Kidd has responded to the criticisms.
