Spooky Graphic to Animate Music Video for Jero, NHK
posted on by Egan Loo
The Japanese design firm Spooky Graphic is animating a music video for "Hare Butai" ("Gala"), a song by American enka singer Jerome Charles White, Jr. that will run during NHK's Minna no Uta (Everyone's Songs) music television program from December to January. As a 26-year-old African-American singer with a Japanese maternal grandmother, "JERO" debuted in Japan earlier this year with a top-5 single sung in the style of enka (Japanese folk songs). NHK has been airing Minna no Uta, a rotating lineup of animated music videos that run between its other programs, for 47 years. Similar to DLE (The Frogman Show, Eagle Talon The Movie - The Chancellor Only Lives Twice), Spooky Graphic produces its animation with Flash computer graphics.
