Berserk's Miura to Draw Cover for March Comes in Like a Lion
posted on by Egan Loo
Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: This year's 21st issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine has announced on Friday that Berserk manga creator Kentarō Miura will be drawing an alternate cover for March comes in like a lion, the ongoing manga by Honey and Clover artist Chika Umino. The magazine's 23rd issue will bundle this alternate cover for March comes in like a lion's second volume as a bonus extra next month. In a way, Miura is returning the favor for the alternate cover that Umino drew of his Berserk manga this month. Young Animal is celebrating the two-way "Miura-Umino" collaboration by giving away an illustration board signed by both creators, ten stainless steel cup sets, and 100 commemorative library cards.
The Japanese manga news website Muhyojo posted an image of Umino's alternate Berserk cover (pictured at right). This bonus extra in Young Magazine's current issue marks the return of Berserk after a four-month break. Umino made news last year when she switched from drawing in shōjo magazines to drawing March comes in like a lion in Young Animal, which is a seinen magazine.
Dark Horse Comics and Digital Manga Publishing have been releasing Berserk in North America, while Viz Media publishes Honey and Clover. Media Blasters' AnimeWorks label released the television anime version of Berserk.
