Kuroshitsuji Inspires Outfits in Tokyo Fashion Show
posted on by Egan Loo
Four designs inspired by Yana Toboso's Kuroshitsuji manga series debuted at Tokyo's Individual Fashion Expo IV, the largest Gothic Lolita (Goth-Loli) fashion show, on September 23. The event also featured a sneak preview of the Kuroshitsuji anime, which premiered on Japanese airwaves on October 2. Algonquins, Baby, the Stars Shine Bright, Sexy Dynamite London, and Super Lovers were among the 22 brands who participated at the show. The event attracted 2,400 attendees, including 100 people on tours from America, France, and other countries. In keeping with the theme of the show, the visual-kei acts jealkb (Hokuto no Ken Raoh Gaiden: Ten no Haoh), Plastic Tree (Glass Fleet, Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo), and Kanon Wakeshima (Vampire Knight) performed at the event.
One of the show's sponsors, Black Peace Now, has announced that it will sell limited items inspired by Kuroshitsuji. The items will first be available at Black Peace Now's store in the Marui One department complex — the same Tokyo complex that hosted the fashion show — on November 8. They will then be available at other Black Peace Now stores on November 15. Marui's overseas mail order website will eventually also sell the items.
