Shin Chan iPod in U.S., Fate/stay night iPod in Japan (Updated)

Shin chan iPod touch offered as prize in Funimation's "ass dance" contest

Not-So-Daily Links of the Day: The North American anime distributor Funimation is offering an iPod touch digital media player "preloaded with Shin-chan" anime as part of its grand prize for the "Shin-chan Show Us Your Ass Dance Contest." People 18 years or older can record video clips of themselves performing Shin-chan (Crayon Shin-chan) ass dances — as long as the videos do not contain actual nudity or lewdness — and submit the videos before Sunday, October 19. Funimation's judges will choose the top three finalists, who will all win the first Shin-chan anime season on DVD, four volumes of Yoshito Usui's original manga, and other merchandise. Fan will then vote for the best of the three videos to award the 16-gigabyte iPod touch.

Over in Japan, Kadokawa Group's Chara-Ani anime goods store is selling an exclusive "Holy Ark" music player based on Type-Moon's Fate/stay night game and anime franchise next month. The 80-gigabyte iPod will be laser-etched on the back with the Fate/stay night logo and come with an original telephone card with new artwork, an exclusive iPod folder case, and several kinds of protective cover sheets with the anime characters on them. The player itself will also contain 11 songs, the credit-less opening and ending animation sequences from the anime, galleries of illustrations and screenshots from famous scenes, and promotional videos (including one never before seen elsewhere).

Update: Funimation has informed ANN that its Shin-chan contest's deadline has been extended until November 2.
