posted on by Egan Loo
The Sports Hochi paper reports that actress Emiri Nakayama will star in a live-action television drama adaptation of the Café Kichijouji de audio drama CD series. The original "heartful comedy" story deals with the everyday lifes of the five quirky male employees of a café in Tokyo's Kichijouji neighborhood. Nakayama will play the café owner Mīna, a new character created for the television version. Actors Momosuke Mizutani, Jun Ikeda, Manpei Takagi, Akihiro Mayama, and Satoshi Jinbo will play the five "ikemen" (handsome males). The television series will premiere on the TV Tokyo station on September 29 at 11:50 a.m.
The early drama CD volumes were adapted into a three-part manga series (pictured at right) by writer Yuki Miyamoto and artist Kyoko Negishi in Shinshokan Publishing's Monthly Wings magazine. Digital Manga Publishing released the manga in North America.
