New York Anime Festival 2008 has
announced that two Lolita fashion designers from the
Baby, the Stars Shine Bright brand — Miho Satoh and
Masumi Kanōh — will be attending the September 26-28 event at New York City's Jacob Javitz Center. In addition to presenting a panel about their brand and the Rococo/Victorian-inspired Lolita fashion lifestyle, the two will join a tea party in their label's honor. The
Baby, the Stars Shine Bright company runs a chain of boutique stores in Japan, but it was arguably popularized outside Japan more by the film
Kamikaze Girls (
Shimotsuma Monogatari). In this film distributed by
Viz Media,
Kyōko Fukada plays a country girl whose only outlet is her obsession in clothes from the
Baby, the Stars Shine Bright stores in Tokyo.
