Japan to Get Xam'd Anime — Two Months after America (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
The official Japanese website of the Xam'd: Lost Memories anime series has announced that the anime will run on the Japanese version of the Sony PlayStation Store's video download service — which opens in September, or two months after this week's American launch. The site, which just moved to a new address, also confirmed that the science-fiction action anime from Bones will have 26 weekly episodes. Each episode will cost 400 yen (about US$3.75) for the high definition version or 300 yen (US$2.82) for the standard definition version to rent. The rental period lasts three days, starting from the first viewing.
The revamped Japanese website includes a blog, story introduction, character profiles, staff and cast lists, the promotional video (which requires Windows Media Player 10 or higher) from the Tokyo International Anime Fair in March, production designs, animation sheets, CD listings, and links.

Update: According to AV Watch, the first episode of Xam'd: Lost Memories was reportedly the #1 most downloaded item on the American PlayStation Store so far. Thanks, samuelp.
