Youka Nitta Out of Yaoi-Con, Laura Bailey Out of Ai-Kon

Yaoi-Con has announced that its planned Guest of Honor Youka Nitta will not be able to attend the September 26-28 convention in Northern California. However, the convention planners are looking into other possible guests. Nitta apologized on Thursday for tracing a fashion advertisement in her most recently published manga installment of Haru wo Daiteita, and her next installment has been removed from the upcoming issue of Libre's Be-Boy Gold magazine. She last appeared at the boys-love convention during its second year (2002). She also attended the 2006 New York Comic Con as a guest of her North American publisher, Central Park Media.

Ai-Kon has announced that voice actor Laura Bailey will be unable to attend the July 25-27 event at Winnipeg, Manitoba. Bailey told the convention that she has to travel to Japan during that part of July to work on a new video game project. However, voice actors Christopher Ayres, Greg Ayres, and Johnny Yong Bosch are still scheduled to appear.
