Gintama Cited for G8 Visitors Buying Wooden Swords

Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: The FNN news source reports that Hokkaido area retailers have been experiencing brisk sales in wooden swords to foreigners during the G8 Summit of major world leaders this week. FNN speculates that Hideaki Sorachi's Gin Tama alternate-history comedy manga is reponsible for the wooden swords' popularity, although it does not quote any foreigners to confirm this. Viz Media publishes the manga in North America, while France's Kana and Tokyopop Germany publishes the manga in Europe.
