Akihabara Tourist Office, Map for Foreigners Offered

posted on by Egan Loo

The Akibanana website's team is staffing a multilingual tourist information office for foreign visitors of Tokyo's Akihabara (Akiba) otaku shopping district from July 21 to August 20. The office will be located at the Tokyo Anime Center near the area's Japan Railways station and will cater to English, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese speakers.

The Akiba de Guide group began distributing a free English version of its Akiba Map on July 5. Akiba de Guide has been offering a Japanese fold-out map that details the main spots for shopping, eating, and sight-seeing in the neighborhood. The Japanese version is regularly updated as stores open and close throughout the year. Since the English version was published this month, it includes the new Gamers! store that will open on July 22.
