Three-volume 1994-1995 video remake of 1972-1974 science-fiction anime

The
Crunchyroll video-sharing website has
announced that it will host the 1994-1995 three-volume video remake of the 1972-1974
Gatchaman science-fiction anime, starting this month.
Urban Video had
released the video series on
video tape and later on DVD in North America.
Tatsunoko Production licensed the rights to the series to
Harmony Gold, who in turn licensed the digital distribution rights to Fireworks International.
Crunchyroll is
hosting another
Tatsunoko anime project: the
Speed Racer adaptation of the 1967-1968
Mach Go Go Go car-racing anime. Hong Kong's
IMAGI (TMNT) had
announced that it was working on a
Gatchaman computer-graphics film remake in 2006, but
TMNT director
Kevin Munroe has since left the project and the company.
