USA Today Booklist, June 9–15
posted on by Egan Loo
In what is likely to be its last week as a best-seller, volume 29 of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga placed in the #150 spot on USA Today newpaper's list of America's top 150 best-selling books for the week of June 9 to June 15. During its seven weeks on the list, Viz Media's English volume climbed as high as #44. It was the only best-selling manga on the list this past week. Tite Kubo's Bleach volume 23 left the list after debuting at #121 the previous week.
However, another book with an anime/manga connection continues to remain prominent. Junot Diaz's Pulitzer Prize-winning The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, whose central character is a 1980s New Jersey teenager obsessed with science fiction, anime, and role-playing games, has re-entered the list at #132.
