posted on by Egan Loo
Walkin' Butterfly, Chihiro Tamaki's manga about an aspiring fashion model, will be adapted into a live-action television drama series this July with a real-life model in the lead role. Aoi Nakabeppu, this year's Toray Swimwear Campaign Girl, will play the awkwardly tall girl named Michiko who develops her self-confidence and determination while becoming a runway model. Nakabeppu is 17 years old and 173 centimeters (five feet, eight inches) tall, while the fictional Michiko is 19 years old and 180 centimeters (five feet, 11 inches) tall.
The drama series begins after midnight on July 11 (effectively the next day, July 12) on the TV Tokyo station. Ozora Publishing released the fourth volume of the manga in Japan last December, while Aurora Publishing released the third volume of the manga in North America last month.
