He is My Master's Husband/Wife Creative Team Splits Up
posted on by Egan Loo
Mattsuu, the manga writer of He is my Master, revealed on a 2ch Internet forum post attributed to him on Wednesday that he and his wife, He is my Master artist Asu Tsubaki, have divorced. According to the post, the couple's relationship has been strained for a long time now, and the two have been living in separate homes for half a year already. As a result, Tsubaki no longer wishes to draw the He is my Master maid comedy. The publisher indicated that Mattsuu can team up with another person to continue the story in a new serialization. Mattsuu said that he would be interested in working with a dōjinshi artist named ISHiKEi.
Mattsuu and Tsubaki launched the title in Enix's (now Square Enix's) Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in 2002. Gainax animated the manga as a 2005 television series. Seven Seas Entertainment plans to publish the fifth — and currently final — volume of the manga in North America in August.
