Little Magic Films to Rep Wind Named Amnesia's Kikuchi
posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
At France's Cannes Film Festival, New York City-based Little Magic Films has signed on to represent the works of Japanese novelist Hideyuki Kikuchi to American producers for potential adaptation into live-action films and television series. Kikuchi is the author of several dozen science fiction/horror novels — including the inspirations for the Demon City Shinjuku, Vampire Hunter D, Wicked City, and A Wind Named Amnesia anime. Even more of his works have been adapted into manga.
Little Magic has specifically mentioned that it is trying to get producers interested in potential film or television series adaptations of A Wind Named Amnesia, Demon City Shinjuku, Dark Side Blues, and Dark Wars: Meiji Dracula. However, the deal does not cover Kikuchi's Vampire Hunter D series, which has already been optioned to Davis Films, or Wicked City, whose remake rights are held by director Mark Dippe.
