This year's 11th issue (released on May 20) of Shogakukan's Big Comic Original magazine has announced that Yūji Nishi and Terry Yamamoto's Andō Natsu pastry-baking manga is being adapted into a live-action television drama series. Shihori Kanja (Hana Yori Dango 2 [Returns], SaiKano, Funky Forest, Always: Sunset on Third Street 2) will star as the title character Natsu Andō, a woman who aspires to be a pâtissier (pastry chef). Jun Kunimura (Ichi the Killer, Tomie: Forbidden Fruit), Toshinori Omi, and Jun Fubuki (Gedo Senki, Murasaki Shikibu Genji Monogatari) will also appear in the series.
Yamamoto had previously created the manga Heisei Inu Monogatari Bow (Modern Dog Tales Bow Wow) which was adapted into the anime of the same name. Fumi Yoshinaga's Antique Bakery is another manga about pastry chefs which has been adapted into live-action drama as well as an upcoming animated version this July.
