Blade of the Immortal Anime's Promo Video Streamed
posted on by Egan Loo
The official Japanese website for the anime adaptation of Hiroaki Samura's Blade of the Immortal manga has formally opened with a promotional video. The video first ran during last month's Tokyo International Anime Fair 2008. The video highlights the staff that will be working with the production studio Bee Train, including director Kōichi Mashimo (.hack, Noir) and character designer Yoshimitsu Yamashita (Murder Princess, Samurai Champloo animation director). Tomokazu Seki (Escaflowne's Van, Gungrave's Beyond the Grave) will voice the main character Manji — a rōnin swordsman condemned to immortality unless he kills a thousand evil men for all the good men he killed.
The anime will premiere on Japan's AT-X premium anime television channel on July 13. Dark Horse Comics publishes the original manga in North America.
