Last Gasp to Publish Tokyo Zombie Horror Comedy Manga
posted on by Egan Loo
Freelance manga translator Ryan Sands has revealed that Last Gasp will publish Yūsaku Hanakuma's Tokyo Zombie horror comedy manga in North America on September 18. The manga follows two factory workers who are caught in the aftermath of a zombie invasion of Tokyo. A few humans survived the epidemic — but in the society upheaval that followed, a new elite class now rules over the survivors. As part of the new underclass, the two workers are forced to fight in a gladiator arena against the muzzled undead.
Last Gasp editor Colin Turner (Barefoot Gen; Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms; Junko Mizuno's Pure Trance) and freelance letterer Evan Hayden are also involved in the manga release. Manga Entertainment licensed Sakichi Satō's live-action film adaptation of the manga in 2006, but has yet release it on DVD in North America.
