X Japan to Perform in Paris on July 5 (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
Music artist Yoshiki Hayashi held an impromptu press conference on March 28 to announce that his rock group X Japan will hold a July 5 concert in Paris, France. The conference was held at Tokyo Dome, the site of X Japan's first concerts in over a decade. The Tokyograph website notes that Japan Expo will also be held in Paris from July 3 to July 6. The band made the decision to finalize the concert plans on the same day of the conference, and YOSHIKI said that the band expects about 20,000 attendees. According to YOSHIKI, the four surviving members — Toshimitsu "Toshi" Deyama, YOSHIKI, Tomoaki "Pata" Ishizuka, and Hiroshi "Heath" Morie — plan to show footage of their late guitarist Hideto "Hide" Matsumoto at Paris "because it is important that all five of us do this."
X Japan's most notable anime contributions were the songs in the X² music video collection and later X movie. Madhouse Studios adapted both productions from CLAMP's X manga.
