Anime Boston Apologizes for Registration Issues
posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
The Executive Board of the Anime Boston convention has issued a letter of apology and explanation of the issues that led to many attendees having to endure waits of more than five hours to register for this past weekend's event. The letter from Jacqueline Lavache, the Director of Registration, acknowledges that the self-service kiosks (used by attendees to enter their registration information) created significant bottlenecks and extremely long wait times. Insufficient staff and the fact that the convention was not able to utilize space in the Sheraton Boston Hotel exacerbated the problem.
For next year, the convention promises to completely restructure the registration process and at least double the resources allocated to that department. The letter requests anyone who wants to offer comments, feedback, or recommendations to use the animeboston.com forums and the website's staff contact form.
In related news, the Fox television affiliate in Boston has posted photographs from its coverage of the convention on Friday night.
