Several international news sources covered Doraemon's Wednesday installment ceremony as Japan's first "anime cultural ambassador," including Mainichi Shimbun, China View, BBC News (sixth picture), Chicago Tribune (via the Associated Press), CBC News, International Herald Tribune, and Jiji Press. Foreign Minister MASAHIKO Kōmura gave the robotic cat his assignment dispatch as his human friend Nobita looked on.
