The Japanese publisher Libre launched a preview website to announce the May 28 launch of the new Kurofune Zero "all-genre comic" magazine. Libre already publishes Magazine Be Boy, Be•Boy Gold, and Junk!Boy romance and boys-love periodicals. The title is an apparent reference to the "black ships" (kuro-fune), the nickname for the foreign ships of Commodore Matthew Perry and others that opened Japan's insular society before the 20th century. According to website, the name symbolizes the journey to "a new world […] of dreams and adventure" to which the magazine will take female readers. The website will have its official opening on March 21 to provide more details on the magazine.
