Morning Int'l Manga Competition Announces 31 Finalists

Submissions from 15 countries, including America, Canada, Mexico
Kodansha's Weekly Morning magazine editorial department has announced the 31 manga works that have passed the initial screening of the 2nd Morning International Manga Competition. The finalists come from 15 countries, including America ("Last Dance" from Peach Fuzz's Jared Hodges & Lindsay Cibos), Canada ("Assassins" by Kosma Gatner), and Mexico ("Senseless Violence" by Bernardo "Bef" Fernandez). The top winners will be announced in April.
Kodansha posted the works of the second place winners in last year's contest, Liou Ming Law ("Nigiri Supahero") and Hwei-Lin Lim ("Vefurrin"), online. The company's Morning two magazine published the work of last year's grand prize winners, Rem and Bikkuri ("Kage no Matsuri"), in October.
