GetBackers' Ayamine to Launch Holy Talker Manga in April
posted on by Egan Loo
The official Japanese website for Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Rival magazine has confirmed that Rando Ayamine (GetBackers) and Seishi Kishimoto (O-Parts Hunter) will create new manga in the magazine's April 4 debut issue. Ayamine indicated in his blog last June that he will serialize an unnamed work in a new Kodansha magazine in April of 2008. He later revealed in January that the work's title is Holy Talker and that he is already working on its eighth installment. Tokyopop has published 22 of the 39 volumes of GetBackers so far.
Seishi Kishimoto is also launching a new manga in Shōnen Rival, but no further details have been announced. Kishimoto serialized O-Parts Hunter in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine from 2001 until 2007. Viz Media will publish the eighth of the manga's 18 volumes next week. Kishimoto grew up drawing manga with his older brother Masashi, which is the main reason why his artwork looks similar to his more famous brother's Naruto manga.
