Future DVD Volumes of MÄR Anime Reportedly Delisted (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
The Right Stuf International anime retailer has removed future DVD volumes of the MÄR anime television series from its catalog, with a short note that they are "no longer available for purchase." The fifth DVD is still listed in Anime Castle and Anime Corner Store for a February 12 release, but not in AAA Anime Distribution and Anime Nation. Viz Media released the first four volumes between June and December of last year. The anime series is based on Nobuyuki Anzai's MÄR or Märchen Awakens Romance shōnen action manga series that Shogakukan serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in Japan. For now, Cartoon Network's online Toonami Jetstream video service still carries the anime series, but only half of the 102 episodes have been dubbed so far.
Update: Viz Media's Evelyn Dubocq has told AnimeOnDVD.com that the company has "made the decision to discontinue this title to make room for some new releases on [its] upcoming DVD roster." ANN is inquiring with Viz Media about Hikaru no Go, which retailers have reported will no longer be released on single DVDs.
