Two Takashi Miike Retrospectives to Run in Los Angeles (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
The Silent Movie Theatre and the Anime Jungle store both announced screenings of iconclastic director Takashi Miike's live-action films in Los Angeles in January and February. The Twitch film website reports that The Silent Movie Theatre will screen Audition on January 6, One Missed Call (the original inspiration for January 4's American remake starring Edward Burns) on January 13, Big Bang Love on January 20, Gozu on January 27, Happiness of the Katakuris and Visitor Q on February 3, Ichi the Killer and Fudoh on February 10, and The Great Yokai War and Zebraman on February 17. Anime Jungle will screen The Great Yokai War a month earlier — specifically, this Friday — at its second retail store. Miike most recently directed the 2007 Crows Zero film, a prequel to Hiroshi Takahashi's Crows school-brawl manga.
Update: Anime Jungle has announced that it will not be screening The Great Yokai War. Instead, it will screen a family movie to be named later.
