Petit Eva, Gundam 00 Get Nintendo DS Games in Japan
posted on by Egan Loo
The Nintendo DS portable game console is getting the first Japanese games based on the Petit Eva superdeformed spinoff franchise and the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 television series. The Petit Eva game will adapt Ryūsuke Hamamoto's official Evangelion four-panel parody comic strip that is published in four magazines, including Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine. Like the manga, the game re-imagines the Evangelion characters (and the EVA-01 biomechanical unit itself) as students and teachers in Tokyo-3's Nerv School and depicts their daily life. According to the Dengeki Online news site, one of the previewed missions — Operation Get Cake — has Misato-sensei ordering her student Shinji to serve cake for the other characters while dealing with the overbearing Asuka and the school bully (Evanchō). Bandai Namco Games will ship the game on March 20 for 5,040 yen.
The Famitsu news magazine reports that Mobile Suit Gundam 00, the latest series in the Gundam military robot franchise, will get its first videogame on the DS as well. The 3D action game will feature the use of the console's double screens to display gauge indicators, as well as conversations with characters between missions. BEC is developing the game for a March 27 release.
