Rumiko Takahashi's One-Pound Gospel Dramatized for TV (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
The pop music group KAT-TUN's Kazuya Kamenashi (live-action Gokusen's Ryu) will star next January in a live-action television drama series adaptation of the One-Pound Gospel boxing manga by Rumiko Takahashi (Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, Urusei Yatsura). The love comedy features a 19-year-old boxer who falls for a girl training to be nun. Takahashi had just finished the manga after twenty years and four manga volumes this past March. Viz published the manga in English, and a 1988 anime video was produced. Nippon Television plans to run the drama for one quarter of a year.
