Rose of Versailles Author to Pen Manga Adaptation of Korean Drama

Riyoko Ikeda visits Korea for announcement, starts manga Tuesday
Riyoko Ikeda, the author of the classic historical manga Rose of Versailles, will be creating a manga adaptation of the 43-billion-won (US$47-million) Korean drama series Story of the First King's Four Gods. Also known as The Legend, this period drama is set during the reign of the 19th king of the ancient Korean kingdom of Gokureyo, who ruled from AD 391 to 413. The Legend premiered on Korean television on September 11, and is set to start airing in Japan in October.
Ikeda's version will run in Kodansha's Tokyo Isshūkan and Kansai Isshūkan magazines starting September 25. Ikeda posted pictures from her Korea trip for the drama's press conference.
