Flash Anime To Promote Tourism in Osaka Released

In an effort to bring more visitors from overseas to the area, the Osaka Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCVB) has enlisted the help of popular online anime company Fanworks to create a flash anime series about Osaka. From Osaka With Cheer! follows the adventures of three young tea shop employees and their adventures in the Osaka area. The OCVB and Fanworks have planned four episodes of the anime; the first episode is already online on the OCVB webpage and can be viewed with subtitles in Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Korean.

Many of the staff working on From Osaka are also involved with other Fanworks projects and animation shorts, some of which currently appear on a late night variety show on Nagoya-based Chūkyō TV. The company also produces animated shorts for the "Net Anime" corner on Japanese web portal Livedoor.
