Hana-Kimi Drama Searches for Most Handsome Boy…or Girl
posted on by Egan Loo
The producers of Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e: Ikemen Paradise, the Japanese live-action adaptation of the Hana-Kimi school romance manga, are holding a "Hana-Kimi Prince" contest for the most handsome person ("ikemen") in Japan. Despite the "Prince" in the contest name, males and females are encouraged to compete, as long as they look like high school students. The contest plays off the "Mr. Ohsaka Contest" in the manga and live-action drama's storylines. The contest has a group category and an individual category, and the individual winner will appear on-camera as an extra.
The organizers printed an "extra edition" of Ohsaka Sports, the fictional school gossip paper seen within the drama, as a promotional flyer for the contest. They then distributed 10,000 copies at 15 locations throughout Japan on July 17.
