Sony's Animax Channel Goes Mobile in Australia - Further Information

More information about the Animax Channel has come to light, the service in Australia has already started on the 12th of June. This makes Australia the first English speaking country to receive the service, soon to be followed by Canada. The service is said to be a two hour loop of four full anime series, Blood+, Last Exile, R.O.D -The TV-, and The Count of Monte Cristo (Gankutsuou). There is currently no information on the 3 mobile site apart from pricing which is stated to be $1 a day or $4 a month.
Backed by Sony Corporation and several Japanese anime producers and broadcasters, Animax first launched in 1998 as the world's first 24-hour, all anime TV network. Originally is a digital satellite TV network servicing Japan, Animax now operates internationally, broadcasting in many Asian, European and Latin American countries. Animax has also suggested plans to expand its TV service to the United States, however no launch date has been formally announced. Animax Mobile launched in Japan in April 2007.
